At Johnson-Wagner Farms, we've been working to increase our yields. We are working with agronomist exposed to those setting world record yields in corn and soybeans along with working with a group of progressive farmers that are willing to test new practices and products on their farm and share the information among the group. During this time we have seen a 12% increase in corn and soybeans yields.
With our move from conventional tillage to strip-tillage, a focus on our microbiology, along with the 4R's, we have been able to reduce our inputs while maintaining or building our fertility levels in the soil and the growing crop. We continue to look too replace synthetic fertilizers with more microbial friendly products.
We pride ourselves on producing more while using less. We are achieving this with a focus on our soil health. We are building soil health by building our knowledge of practices and products that help and hurt the microbiology in our fields. We are working at:
Protecting the biology, Recruiting new biology, Feeding the biology, and Housing the biology. This will lead us to better Nutrient cycling, Resilience too pathogens, Hormone production, and Stress adaptation.
As we implement changes in practices and products we have worked hard to ensure we measure the effects of our changes. We understand some of our changes are going to take years to see and that not all changes may be seen in yield but more importantly ROI.
